Modular System
OptoJump is a modular system that starts at 1m and can be connected up to 100m in
length depending on the type of test we need to perform. It utilizes precise timing
technology to capture flight and contact time to a millisecond of accuracy – from
there our algorithms objectively break down parameters of the movements into exact
readings for speed, height, power, etc. This optical system employs the latest technology
to take the guess-work out of sport analysis. Athletes can understand exactly how
they are performing, seeing any underlying asymmetries that might otherwise go unnoticed
to the naked eye. As we have mentioned, balance and symmetry are essential to optimal
performance. A large percentage of sport injuries are cumulative – an asymmetry
will get larger and larger until eventually it pops. With this system we have the
ability to not only recognize those imbalances, but monitor them over time and ensure
that the athlete is improving safely and efficiently.
2D System
OptoJump is not just a linear system – it can be set up in a 2D rectangle or square
as well. With this setup, we can perform jump tests that not only give the same
accurate readings for contact time, flight time, power, and height, but can also
put an objective measure on dynamic control by tracking the exact landing point
of each jump. As we mentioned, balance is very important in ensuring the athlete
has a stable foundation. By tracking the landing points, we can see how much an
athlete drifts during testing, giving us a clear understanding of their balance
in motion.
